About the portfolio

Arkadios seeks to provide a solution for the ever-increasing demand for affordable but decent housing in Kenya’s low-income urban and fast-growing peri-urban areas. In collaboration with partners, our projects aim to enhance local capacity by working with local artisans while ensuring gender representation. Our projects have provided decent living conditions for low-income earners and at the same time achieved returns on investments for our clients. 

Our value creation process involves;

  • Identification and acquiring of land in strategic locations.
  • Mastering plan development and obtaining approvals.
  • Attracting third party capital at development level.
  • Availing construction ready sites to investors in line with master plan.

Our real estate cycle has 5 main tenets

  1. Business Case on feasibility– Understand the market opportunity and seize the potential profit of the venture.
  2. Concept Business Case – Detail the product value proposition and firm up the business case, design and all necessary approvals.
  3. Market Validation and Fundraising – Sense checking the assumptions of the business case and evaluating if there is potential market uptake while securing equity and debt funding.
  4. Pre-construction – Securing all the necessary resources and planning the construction costs, milestones and timelines.
  5. Construction – Ground breaking and actioning the project plan developed in the previous phase, while continuously tracking progress.
